chewiec Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Hello everyone, Has anyone moved from one front end to the other and if so, what was the easiest way? I am currently using Pinball X and want to move to Popper but from what I understand the Baller installer is just for a fresh system. I currently have all my pinup player, vpx, future pinball, etc. working well. Would the best way be just to uninstall Pinball X and install the Popper program and go from there? Thanks!
Content Provider topper2k Posted April 19, 2022 Content Provider Posted April 19, 2022 I'd start by asking why you want to make the switch. I've tried all three of the main front-ends (Popper, PinballX, PinballY). For me, PinballY was the clear winner. It's so much easier to manage than Popper. Moving from PBX to PBY is a breeze. They share the same media folder and game database structure. So you can just install PBY and drag your media and game data from the PBX folder directly into PBY. For Popper, you will have to start over. You can leave PBX installed. It won't hurt anything so long as it isn't running in the background. But you'll have to setup all your tables and download all new media.
