CEAntoun
We need your help. In november we asked PCBWay to make some PIN2DMD boards for us. At that time, the person there told us that they don´t have MCU to put in the boards but we can buy it from other supplyer. We order the boards and order the MCUs at eBay. We normally buy parts from Digikey or Mouser but none of them had it. We received the boards and soldered the MCU. None of the boards work. The supplier said that we must load some parameters in the MCU but looking at the manufacture manual, they said that the bootloader is native to it. We realize that the ICs we bought are bad. We tried another supplier from China, that we bought some other ICs from then in the past, and the same thing happened. Our doubt is if we really need to load any parameter or program in the MCU to start using it or not? If so, can you help us with this? If not, we realize that we are buying bad MCUs. Can you show us a reliable supplier? We hope you can help us. Many Thanks, Claudio Antoun

My last order of STM chips was before the global chip crisis. Since I don´t sell any hardware maybe asking those who sell pin2dmd hardware is better. 1 hour ago, CEAntoun said: The supplier said that we must load some parameters in the MCU but looking at the manufacture manual, they said that the bootloader is native to it. That´s right but maybe there are STM clones out there which work when the firmware is installed through ST-LINK This guy also had non working DFU but the devices worked in the end.
