I think I broke it! Help!

I was installing my first pin2DMD and everything was finally working fine and dandy but I mounted the display to the hardware incorrectly so that the display metal plate ended up touching the pins for 5 volts and ground together which resulted in a blank screen but when I removed the metal plate the screen came back except it was snowy this time. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

First you need to find out which component got damaged by your short circuit.

Do you use a external power supply or do you get it from your pinball machine ?

Which board revision do you have (lower right corner of the back)?
