Can you give us a bit more information?

Is the EPROM installed in the Pin2dmd the correct way up?

Is the Data cable in the right way in the Pin2dmd?

What version of Pin2dmd do you have, V1.0 or V1.1? 1.0 will need some pads soldered/bridged together.

Is enhancer set to on?

Have you made sure it is set to De x16 and not Sega/Data East?

Are you getting a blue LED flashing at the back of the Pin2dmd?

Thanks

Was your old dmd working ok before you swapped in the pin2dmd?

No blue led I believe means no communication from your machine to the pin2dmd.

The x16 pin2dmd contains the dmd driver as well.

The z80 cpu, is that fitted the correct way?

Ok so far it sounds like you have done everything right.

Did you make sure you burnt the display rom to the eprom and not the game rom?

Do you have another Pin2dmd to test or is this your only one?

Have trots another pin2dmd from same order. Same result..

now gonna look with friends for another data east game!

Can you take a good clear photo of the back of your Pin2dmd just so we can make sure everything looks good?

From what you have said, it sounds like everything is correct but just to be sure. If your original DMD works ok then it sounds like something to do with the Pin2dmd.

Thanks

There is an easy way to test the pin2dmd together with the ROM by just bridging PIN 1 (GND) and PIN 20 (RESET).

Every time you do this you should see the ROM version displayed on the screen and the the blue LED should flicker.

Also set all settings to default for Batman by initiating reset config in the onscreen menu.

I have had an issue in the past with the EPROM. I had to re-insert the EPROM and wiggle it a little while it was in to make sure it was making proper contact, it can take a bit of force so be careful. The EPROM I used was brand new and didn't have any build up on the pins. Not 100% sure what was causing it but you may want to try that and see if it helps. Also check your EPROM pins to make sure the pins are clean, I can't quite tell from your picture. You may also want to check the solder joins of the eprom socket to the PCB and make sure they are all correctly soldered.

You also said your pads were bridged when you checked via multimeter. A few look like they are not 100%, I would still do those again to make sure they look clean, especially the points DE and DCL even if you're getting a good reading, just to make sure.

I'm sure lucky will also have a suggestion for you, but obviously if the EPROM isn't being read then you won't get anything.

How did you go with this? Did you adjust the eprom and redo the bridges? You will get a similar symptom with an eprom that isn't making 100% contact.

Are you and Peza working with the same pcbs?

I have had 1 DE x16 PCB with a similar issue but not exact. I have not found a solution for that one yet. The other one was giving the same symptoms as yours and I had to re insert the eprom again (and I burnt a new one).

I will leave it to lucky to see if he can suggest anything else as it seems we have covered the basics.

Thanks
