PIN·BOT (Williams 1986)

PIN·BOT (Williams 1986)

VPX by bord, etc. (credits below)

B2S by Blacksad

Does it get any better than System 11 games? I started this ages ago and worked on it in fits and starts as resources and collaborators were available. Lots of raytraced textures so I don't expect this to play well on old graphics cards. Requires VPX beta 10.6.

Many thanks to:

Blacksad for letting me package his great B2S  with this download

djrobx - scripting

rothbauerw - scripting/testing/gameplay tweaking/magic

leojreimroc/rawd - VPVR implementation

32assassin - base script

tnjhead - slingshot scans

Ted Bowie - measurements from actual PB

HF - playfield touchup

Thanks to the beta testers for all the feedback and time.

Great table thanks Bord. I've got an issue with the helmet texture being rendered in a much lower resolution than the rest of the table. Anyone else seeing the same issue and know of a fix?

I can't seem to get past "factory settings."

Normally I just exit out and on the second boot the machine is playable, but that isn't working for me.

Any ideas?

try hitting F3 while in game to restart vpinmame. This should write to the nvram immediately and be good to go after that

In VR, the alpha numeric display on the back-glass is garbled and unreadable.  Any thoughts on how to correct this?  DMD displays on my monitor fine, but in VR, after the High Score text, the symbols change to gibberish.

Hi Bord,

the ball got stuck 2x in left outlane while in Desktop mode VPX8. Shrinking the ball to 24.9 helped.

@malachipin666 Try changing "Cabinet mode" to on in F1 menu and restart. I've had that method fix a few garbled text DMD issues before although it may have been fixed in latest version of vpinmame.

Edit: Actually I remember now that this issue also occurs in Jokerz! and Diner to some extent (sporadic in Diner), Panasony tracked the problem down to vpinmame trying to send an error message to the DMD resulting in garbled text, Panasony then released a version of VpinMAME64.dll that suppresses those text errors and it worked without needing to enable to cabinet mode setting. You can find that file on Discord VR Pinball group if you search for it or the direct link is https://discord.com/channels/668971468557647923/1060606099037896745/1271658735634481267

Keep in mind that latest official vpinmame may also have this fix included but I'm not sure if it was.

Looking forward to reliving my favorite machine of all time! This is my first download. If there are the 3 files to download, do I just need to download the one? Are there instructions within the zip file? Thank you!
