Crrispy Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Hello, I just installed a brand new pin2dmd XL in my Baywatch. I have lots of pixels noise on the display, quite unbearable. Also colors are sometimes right, sometimes wrong, Sonic in attract mode is green instead of blue, etc... Here are 2 videos showing the issues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUmy2mn5t6o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_rNfFcvNHs Firmware was 3.15, upgraded to 3.17, no change. I have tried 2 different SD cards, no change. "Pixel noise" is already here without sd card anyway. Did someone already see this? Thanks.
SteveNZ Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Check your power supply. How are you powering the PIN2DMD?
Content Provider lucky1 Posted November 24, 2020 Content Provider Posted November 24, 2020 problem fixed by shorting the ribbon cables.
Crrispy Posted November 26, 2020 Author Posted November 26, 2020 ...and by upgrading the firmware ? Thanks for the great support, happened elsewhere though since my post here took several days to be approved.

From the preview I got in the mail notification, you were asking if an external power supply would improve the pixels noise? Well first it would need to be a 12V power, not 5V, and I also had tried with an external one before shortening the ribbons, it hadn't changed anything.
