Hello everyone. Setting up my cab for Virtual Pinball and ran into a snag. I have the Pin2DMD and set it completely up before I put my computer into my cabinet. I paid for the activation code and everything setup just fine and activated. As I'm getting everything setup in the cab, for some reason the Pin2DMD is no longer activated.  I put the code into the pin2dmd.exe folder and executed the software, then selected 'Activate'. I then get a message stating that it can't be activated. I selected 'Load Config' and it doesn't give me a version number, just says that its not activated.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Thanks.

As an update, I know that the computer is recognizing the DMD as it chimes when I hook up the USB cable from the ST board on the DMD. I've tried to run the ST-Link setup again, and it simply says that I don't have an ST device connected, so I can't get into the software to upgrade the firmware if that is what is needed. I've tried activating the code through Pin2DMD.exe 32 bit by copying the key file (named the code on my DMD) into the same folder then launching, which is supposed to register automatically, and won't activate. I've also tried the other way with the pin2dmd.exe 64 bit, changed the name of the numbered file to pin2dmd.key, selected the file and tried to activate. In both events, it still says that it cannot be activated.  Everything seems to be operating on the Pin2DMD,.

Just about out of options to get this to work. If anyone has any additional thoughts I'd appreciate it.

Are you plugged the right port on the PIN2DMD

Yes. I have the micro usb cable plugged into the port opposite side of the RJ45 connector. I did try the other connector as well...just to be thorough.  When I plug in the PIN2DMD via the micro cable, the computer chimes and it opens a window with two files. One file is a text file telling me the build date of the unit, and the other is an icon for a website. It's listed something like F5 and not as an STLINK USB device. I have the Nucleo 144 board.

The port on the RJ45 side is the correct port. Check wether you have the correct USB driver installed for the device. WinUSB is the recommended driver. You can install the driver using the zadig tool from my github usb_driver folder.

Thanks Lucky. I reversed the micro usb cable to the port by the RJ45 connector and restarted. I also verified that I had the correct WinUSB driver as well through the Zadig tool. After that, I attempted to activate again via Pin2dmd.exe and it's telling me that the firmware I have is outdated and cannot activate. I ran the ST-Link upgrade link, and it's telling me that I don't have an ST-Link device connected, so I'm unable to update the firmware.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Hey guys. Just to update, I was able to get it working. Looks fantastic. When I started the system this afternoon, the computer chimes and a window opened up that was for the pin2dmd. It had a 32 bit pin2dmd.exe file that was trying to access the key by itself. I put the key file in the folder and restarted the .exe file. And it registered. Thanks again for the support.
