mazzaneo
Hi Guys, So, below is the computer hardware I will be using... CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: Asus Prime B450 M Motherboard Socket AM4 (mATX, AMD AM4, DDR4 Memory Natives M.2 USB 3.1 Gen 2) SSD: Sabrent M.2 NVME SSD 550GB GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080ti RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB Desktop Memory Kit Power Supply: Aerocool Lux 650 W 80Plus Bronze I have my eye one the following TV as a playfield option: TV 43" LG 43UM7000PLA 4K, thoughts? I would appreciate suggestions and options for 2nd and 3rd (even 4th) monitor for DMD/Topper and Backbox. Or even if you think I should use another vertically aligned 4k TV to handle all three using a 2 monitor setup? Im assuming the GPU can handle all the above options. At this point I have not built any cabinet so any opinion as to the best build can be considered. I look forward to your help guys and gals. Thanks
mazzaneo
I quite like the idea of a vertical 4k as a Backbox. Would probably need to hide a portion under the playfield and have another portion stick out of the top for a topper. Does anyone have any experience with running two 4k panels? Thalamus
@BorgDog has - you should look at his profile over at vpinball. Pretty sure it still links to his build.

Content Provider BorgDog Posted April 5, 2020 Content Provider Share Posted April 5, 2020 Thanks. My backglass display is actually a 4K tv, but I believe I mention somewhere in that thread that I run it at 1080p. there really wasn't a need for 4k especially when I built it as most b2s did not have any where near that high of resolution graphics. It would definitely be fairly easy to mod it to have part of the display stick out for a topper with less or even none in the cab. some day I would like to upgrade the playfield display to a 120hz monitor, and then I would probably still do the bg at 1080p, but it is capable of 120hz at that as well. I believe things work better when all displays run at the same hz, but I could be mistaken in that. Good luck with your build, be sure to post up pics as you go, we all like some pincab porn. mazzaneo
Thanks, Gotta admit, I'm liking your cabinet! How do 90's era games and modern tables such as TNA look on this setup? Do you ever play such games on your build? Would be good to see how they appear on a good 2 monitor setup. BorgDog, have you got any pics or videos running those type of games on your cabinet? Content Provider BorgDog Posted April 6, 2020 Content Provider Share Posted April 6, 2020 No videos, here is the only pic I could find at the moment. I have a lot of the 90s era stuff on there, but not really much newer than that. I think it actually works really well as long as you get a b2s that has the speaker grill and such built in. Cab is buried at the moment or I would fire it up and get some more images for you.
mazzaneo
Thanks, looks great! I’ll probably go down that route then.
Thalamus
I recommend that you do. Very flexible. If I where to build my cab again - this would be the way to do the backglass.
