Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 13, 2018 Content Provider Share Posted February 13, 2018 Yes, they act as level shifters from 3.3V to 5V. 74LS245 should also work.
Giants
Hi ! With 5V to VCC and DIR (pin1 and 20) And GND to Ground and /OE (pin10 and Pin19) B1 to B8 is input & A1 to A8 is output Or A1 to A8 is input & B1 to B8 is output ?
Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 14, 2018 Content Provider Share Posted February 14, 2018 From a look at the datasheet you can see that with OE low and DIR high A is the input and B is the output If DIR is low it is reverse https://assets.nexperia.com/documents/data-sheet/74HC_HCT245.pdf

Giants
Hi ! Strange...I make a quick electronic assembly with 2 74HCT245 as you say. All Signals passed through (except pin 4 and 16, which are directly connect because they'r ground). It's work..but... it's missing 1 line out of 2... Strange.... Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 15, 2018 Content Provider Share Posted February 15, 2018 Seems like signal on pin A is always low.
Giants
Yeah...Strange, always low on A but input Not... A build a new electronic assembly but with 2 x 74ls245 (so, not HCT) This don't correct the problem but, if I Add a voltage regulator on 5V input (to have so, less 5V to powerOn the 2 DMD) it work. So the couple of 2x74LS245 + voltage regulator seems to be work for me. I say 'seems' because I tested on played on my real Pinball but only 10mn (Too cold on my shed)
