Vpinmame 2.8 and DMD display issue

I finally made the plunge and upgraded to the latest version of pinmame.  I'm having a weird issue across all my VP dmd's after the upgrade.  Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to fix it?

Here is a  picture of what I'm talking about, it only happened once I upgraded to the latest vpinmame2.8. I'm using just a monitor for the DMD, not a pindmd, etc.  I've also tried various settings in the DMD options, but that horizontal stripe is always there. Also with this new version am I suppose to use the DMDext directory at all?  Thanks for any advice

 

EDIT:  Got the stripe removed, had to go into registry and change ddraw from 1 to 0 for each of the tables.
