"directoutputconfig40.ini" Vs "directoutputconfig.ini"

Curious, why do the most current versions of the DOF config tool send out files named "directoutputconfig40.ini"?   I am using the latest DOF 2.0, but the default configuration doesn't find "directoutputconfig40.ini", only "directoutputconfig.ini".   

 

It's no big deal, I just rename it every time and everything works, but I feel like I'm missing something?

I still don't see from reading the vpforums.org link provided what the difference is between directoutputconfig20.ini and directoutputconfig40.ini. What is the purpose for the numbering differences?
