been using win rar, I have 202 working tables. Just seems like the SAM thing that's failing. But win rar excepts zip files. Are there known issues using winrar? Should I be using winzip? The roms are in zip format.

Not that I know of but I know there are some .zip programs that leave the files blocked more than others after you unzip the file.... i would make sure you check your files...... I use 7 zip

OMG, this is so beyond crazy frustrating! I have tried the suggested setup in the previous screenshot. I can figure out for the life of me how to post a screenshot to this thread. I have it but I don't see an option for thumbnail or attachment. Can someone please tell me where the button is. This way, you can see what I'm doing and hopefully spot what is wrong.  Thanks!

So here is what I got. I tried both af and as and also all the exact same. the error seems to be saying it's looking for the af file. when I run setup test, it shows an x next to the as file. so confused.post-7341-0-21145000-1425620626_thumb.jpg

The picture you put out there is too small by the time I blow it up its all blurry.... Check your VPinMAME.dll file and the Sam.VBS to see if they are blocked..

I download that ROM and tried it in my cabinet and work fine just so you know....That is the same rom I use,  the English / Spanish version

i am running on win8 and it's ok here, when you changed of folder, did you reregister the dll with setup.exe?

did you test your rom with setup.exe, test option?

Yes, same error when I click to run the rom from test. something is amiss but I can't wrap my head around it. I feel like I have done everything suggested. is anyone else successfully running this table on windows 8.1 with VP 9.9.1. I can't imagine why it shouldn't work. seems like somewhere, the system is blocking it from running but I already unblocked it and made sure every user tied to the file has full control access.

Hey Arngrim, yes I tested and get the vbscript error from setup. I did run setup and confirmed I'm running the lates DLL 2.6. I'm running 8.1, are you running 8 or 8.1? Still need to confirm if anyone is successfully running 8.1 with this table. gonna try another table at some point
