2015 International CES Daily January 7, 2015 DAY TWO EDITION

While virtual reality and other high tech offerings are being unveiled in the Gaming Marketplace at this year’s International CES, Jody Dankberg is happy to show off some old-school gaming as well. She’s the director of marketing and licensing at Stern Pinball and promised that 2015 will be a big year for the game that actually debuted long before the first International CES.

In fact, pinball as a leisure activity has its roots in France where wooden game machines were introduced into the court of Louis XIV in the 17th century. It was in the 1930s that the games went electric, and despite the competition from other arcade favorites, pinball keeps flipping and bumping. Stern Pinball is demonstrating that pinball will continue to evolve and that the company will continue to innovate.

“At Stern we’re always looking to advance pinball into the future and 2015 will be another banner year, “said Dankberg, who added that the company has been fortunate to be a part of and attend CES each year. “AT CES 2015 we’ll be announcing some exciting pinball technology news – one of our biggest announcements in over a decade.”

“We’ll also be showcasing our current lineup of exciting pinball games including The Walking Dead, Star Trek, and Ford Mustang.” she noted. “While a lot of pinball games have become digitally available, nothing compares to a real pinball. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that cannot be recreated in a video environment. Our strong licenses have kept us very relevant in the public eye. We’re always looking to grow and expand pinball and the technology to keep pinball alive and enjoyed for generations to come.”
