jdesalvo
First off - hello VP Universe! I've been using this great site for a while to get started on my new Visual Pinball Addiction. Great site packed with helpful people and amazing tables! So here's my build so far.. I've been bouncing back and forth between my pinball and arcade cabinet, so there's plenty left to do. I used 1/2 5-Ply for the main body, however I feel like it's too thin for the williams trim and glass channel, so I fear that will have to be redone. Every time I think about deconstructing it I start playing pinball and never get any work done! The TV is a decased 42" Vizio and the backglass is a 28" vizio razor. Unfortunately they don't come apart well, so be careful if you try open one up. I broke mine about 10 minutes after taking it out the box and had to order another one. The I/O is the usual Ultimarc iPAC. The PinDMD2 and analog punger is from VirtuaPIN. Audio is pushed thru a Lepai 2.1 Amp w/ a Boss 8" Sub and 2 x 4" 2 channel car audio speakers. I have a custom lockdown bar from VirtuaPIN - they did a great job. I can't wait to get it trimmed out.

jdesalvo
Ah - thats the EB button. I have real start / eb button replacements ready to put in, as well as the AFM launch button. The middle button is a Cash/Credit button for quarters. The cancel button is on the right side out of harms ways. The green arrows are for volume control. Content Provider gtxjoe Posted January 8, 2015 Content Provider Share Posted January 8, 2015 I used 1/2 plywood for the side panels on my cab so I could fit my 39" playfield in a standard cab without decasing (3/4" for front and back panels). So, I had the same issue about installing the glass plastic channel and side rails. You would have to drop the tv down at least 1/2" inch though. I bought wood trim that was 1/4" by 1/2". Run a strip on the inside of the side panels and another strip on the top of the side panels. This forms a ledge that replaces the plastic glass channel. The metal side rails when installed completely cover this. Here's some pics but it may be hard to see since its painted black

jdesalvo
Great idea - and a whole lot less work! I didn't care for the TV being mounted flush anyway... I was going to lower it to add a little depth. I know what I'm doing this weekend - Thanks!
Content Provider gtxjoe Posted January 8, 2015 Content Provider Share Posted January 8, 2015 And... Use screws on at least one of the side rails so you can remove it if needed to lift out the playfield
