Installing 1St Stern Table...now I'm Stuck

Hello.

could you please point me in the right direction?

Trying to install my 1st SAM table, Spiderman.

Did everything I read here in the various posts: instal sam.vbs, install new pinmame and run install, so far so good.

Now it comes to the rom:

I downloaded it from the Stern webside: SPD26164.zip. Renamed it to sman_260.zip and put it in the ROM directory

Try to run the table, table starts, getting backglas but ROM error.

Went back to pinmame: Test option.

Found Spiderman (V2.6) sman_260    X

So, this tells me I run the right pinmame version with SAM support, it tells me also that it can find the rom.

When I Check Roms however it gives an error and says that sman260a.bin is not available.

No, it is not because if I have a look at sman_260.zip the file contains SPD26164.BIN

So...what I did then is I extracted the SPD file from the zip. I renamed the SPD26164.BIN to sman260a.bin and made a new ZIP file named sman_260.zip but...no luck.

I never read that you have to do the last steps but nothing seems to work...

Can you tell me what to do as I'm really stuck at the moment.....

Thank you in advance!

It would be nice if Stern made it obvious what rom version you downloaded.  It is probably 2.61, so rename the zip to sman_261.zip, and in the Spiderman table, open the script (Script button on left), and search for "sman_260" and change it to "sman_261"

YOU MADE MY DAY !!!!  :-)

thank you!!

Changed the romname, tested it in PinMame and it was ok......started VP and the table...it works!!

I must say I put quite some effort in trying to make it work, did read a lot, did try a lot, still no effort.

Then a post and a quick answer and Yep, GREAT.   I ow you a bear :-) Thanks again.

PS: may-be (don't know) SPD26164   means SPiDerman version 2.61  (64...)??  No clue but could be.....

Hello,

I downloaded this file and copied it into the tables Folder first, mame tester still

doesn't Show Rom files of Transformers or Ironman. Then I copied the file

into the Scrips Folder and still the same like before.

This file should be the Pinmame.dll. Should be placed where your Pinmame setup.exe file is located. If you are on Win7 or higher you may need to unblock the file. Right click, properties and then Unblock. Once that is done run your Pinmame Setup.exe and click INSTALL.

users may need to UNBLOCK this file once it has been placed in the correct directory. To UNBLOCK a  file, right click on the file and click UNBLOCK. APPLY. OK.

Roms on this site

You will need to unzip the file

I am using a led TV for my DMD  --- VPinMAME_SAM_NON_PINDMD__PINDMD2__PIN2DMD_2.23

I put the bass.dll file in my visual pinball folder

I put the sam.vbs file in with my Scripts

I put the VPinMAME.dll file in my VPinMame folder

-

I believe it's the same For Pindmd version 1, use VPinMAME_PINDMD1_UNIFIED_2.23

For for some reason mine does not let me uninstall or install..

What I do is just overwrite the files and everything still works for me and I have all the latest games - Metallica, Star Trek, Mustang, transformers, 24, Ironman and others all work fine

Ok i was in the global Settings  and changed the paths to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\roms

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\nvram

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\samples

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\snap

But i have vpinmame Version 2.5 and you have 2.6.

Does it work on vpinmame 2.5, too? Or do i have the 2.6

Version?

The VPinMame was in all These paths missing.

I changed the paths back, because my older tables didn't run. i've now:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\roms

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\nvram

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\samples

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\snap

When i Change the paths my older downloaded tables, like No Fear,

Scared Stiff, ect. won't run.

I've the visual pinball Folder, when i open it, it Shows the Folders

which you have in your vpinmame Folder: artwork, cfg, doc, hi, ini,

inp, installpics, memcard, nvram, roms, samples, scripts, snap, sta,

tables, user, VPinMAMETest, wave. I see that's it, why the newer

tables, like the 24, Transformers, Avengers... do not work, right?

I wonder, why my older tables, like Scared Stiff, Star Wars Data

East or Ripleys believe it or not are working.

I'm not sure, i think i downloaded VPinMame from the older other site, where you only get the older

tables. That is the mistake, why I can't Play the newer tables. And that's it, why I don't see the romfiles

of the newer tables in my tester, i think. When i download VPinMame from this site, and install it, do i lose

older tables, or are they still playable?
