Indiana Jones ij_l7 – PuPCapture images load, but DMD triggers never fire

I have a problem with the PuP-Pack for Indiana Jones (ij_l7). The PuP-Pack starts, but none of the PuPCapture DMD triggers fire automatically.

System and versions:

Windows 11, 64-bit

Visual Pinball X64

ROM: ij_l7

VPinMAME64: 3.7.0.372

DMD Extensions: 2.4.0 x64

dmddevicePUP64.dll: version 1.4.7.1

PuP-Pack folder: C:\PinUpSystem\PuPVideos\ij_l7

PuPCapture contains 109 BMP images

PUPLOG shows that the game and all capture images are detected:

Open called
Set Game Name thread ij_l7
Start Thread Matching
create PuPCap
Init Game name
Create Object Display

However, there are no trigger-match entries and no videos are started.

What I have verified:

Firing the D2 event manually in PuP-Pack Editor plays the correct trailer.

Therefore the video file, playlist, screen configuration and PinUP Player itself are working.

The live raw DMD dump was compared pixel by pixel with the original 2.bmp.

Several live frames are exact matches inside the purple masked area, with 0% deviation.

2.bmp is a valid uncompressed Windows BMP: 128×32 pixels, 24-bit, 12,342 bytes.

The DMD is displayed correctly and in color.

Testing with colorization disabled produced a monochrome DMD, but still no PuP triggers.

I tested DMD Extensions 2.3.0 and 2.4.0 with no difference.

I tested both the current and an older VPinMAME64 build with no difference.

I also started ij_l7 directly through the 32-bit VPinMAME Setup program. The matcher loaded all 109 images, but still no trigger fired.

The active dmddevicePUP64.dll exports the PuP_Trigger function.

DMD Extensions nevertheless writes this warning:
“Attempt to find PuP_Trigger function but dmddevicePUP.dll is outdated.”

It appears that PuPCapture receives the game name and loads the capture images, but the actual DMD frames are not being passed to the matcher, or the matching process stops before comparing them.

Could somebody please advise what additional log or diagnostic test could identify where the DMD frames are being lost?
