gunner Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Set up a PC in my tech room yesterday so I can play a bit when I'm working on other things. Haven't run in Desktop mode for many years. Got that figured out but every table seems to be a different size on screen. Wondering if there's a way to have a default POV file that will size every table I launch? Or maybe there is some other way to accomplish this. Thanks
laralala Posted Friday at 05:26 PM Posted Friday at 05:26 PM Maybe saving to the main.ini file? It works for cabinet so I'm guessing it will work for desktop too. Run a table and use the F12 menu to set the POV you want and save it. Open the .ini file that was generated for that table, it will have something like this: ViewDTScaleX = ViewDTScaleY = ViewDTScaleZ = ViewDTPlayerX = ViewDTPlayerY = ViewDTPlayerZ = ViewDTLookAt = ViewDTRotation = ViewDTFOV = ViewDTLayback = ViewDTHOfs = ViewDTVOfs = ViewDTWindowTop = ViewDTWindowBot = Now go and open the main VPX .ini file located at C:\Users\YOUR-USER-HERE\AppData\Roaming\VPinballX\VPinballX.ini You want to search and replace those lines with the ones from the table .ini file. Note that the names are the ones with "DT" in them: ViewDTScaleX... you'll see others like ViewCabScaleX that you don't want to change in this case. The values in this VPinballX.ini file are used when a table doesn't have it's own values in its own .ini file. Hope it helps.
gunner Posted Saturday at 03:46 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:46 PM Thank you I didn't realize that file existed. Will give it a try. I realize many tables will still need to be tweaked but it would be a good starting point.
