Silent-Service-II Posted August 27 Posted August 27 A friendly hello to the pinball community! I have a question: I have—let's say—about 10 tables where the flashers are far too bright during gameplay. A "Friday the 13th," the 2008 Stern "Indiana Jones," and "Phantom of the Paradise" which I installed just yesterday come to mind right away. These are tables I’d love to play more often, but in some cases, the flashing and light effects are so intense that I can no longer see the actual playfield. So, my question is: how and where can I change this? I’ve heard there’s an option for this somewhere in VPX 10.8. Very Important: I only want to change this for these specific "problem" tables, not for my entire Pinball collection in Popper. Because all other tables working great. Does anyone have a tip or a suggestion on how to handle this? Or fix it? Thanks!
gunner Posted August 27 Posted August 27 In VPX 10.8 there is a setting you can try under Preferences>Video/Graphics Options Check off the box there in front of 'Force Bloom Filter off' Then select 'Specific table overrides' in the top left corner (so the change will only affect the table you have open) Click 'Save Changes' and see if that helped. Worked good for me on the older AC/DC tables.

Silent-Service-II Posted Saturday at 12:18 PM Author Posted Saturday at 12:18 PM So, I’ve tried it out, and there is a noticeable improvement in every case—thanks! There are still two tables where I find the lighting effects a bit too intense, but at least they are more playable now. I also tested this with other tables that didn't have these overly strong lighting effects to begin with, and I have to say—it doesn't bother me at all; in fact, it's virtually unnoticeable. Consequently, I’ve disabled the "Force Bloom" function entirely for all tables. I do have one follow-up question, though: If I want to change a VPX setting for just a single table, is "Specific table overrides" the right way to save that change? Or did that apply only to the "Flasher" function?
gunner Posted Saturday at 03:44 PM Posted Saturday at 03:44 PM Great. Yes 'Specific table overrides' will save any and all the changes you make on the Video/Graphics Options page. For just the table you have open.
