Looking for help troubleshooting a few 128x32 EVO displays

I have a few problem displays I'm dealing with and I'm looking for some recommendations or guidance. All the displays are being tested by connecting them to my Judge Dredd pin.

 

I have one version 1.2 board running firmware version 5.06. It receives data from the pin but only displays graphics using the 4 colour default palette regardless of the colour files on the memory card. I've tried multiple memory cards with the same result. The card reader seems to be working as I can do a firmware update from the memory card. I've tried manually reinstalling the firmware using my laptop with no luck. 

 

I have three version 1.5 boards running firmware version 5.06. None of them seem to be receiving any data from the pin. I have run the input test for each of them and I'm getting the expected result. When connected to the pin, they go to the virtual pin setting. I've tried to manually set them to B/W but that makes no difference. I've reinstalled the firmware manually using my laptop multiple times with no luck.

 

Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does a pin2dmd.dat file get created on th SD when you save the config in the onscreen menu of the first board.

 

For all the other boards the problem must be with the clock pin running through the LS123. Check the circuit around that.
