DBrown67 Posted June 27 Posted June 27 (edited) This should be something easy, so thought to ask here. I recently came back to my cabinet after a short hiatus. I want to get it ready for VR. Part of that was to upgrade the PC, starting with the GPU. I want to get everything running smoothly with new GPU before I even update to 10.8 64 bit. After the GPU update some things went wrong. The backglass was on wrong monitor and DMD had moved away from its global position. I have sorted those things out. Then I had a huge black space over my backglass. This turned out to be a statistics window in PinballX front end. That just needed turning off in the setup wizard, but I dunno how it got turned on. Now every single pup pack has just stopped working.. Most of my packs are the DMD overlays from Andrew Walsh that sit round the DMD. I only have two tables with heavy packs with are GotG and Batman 66. But every one of them has stopped. Tables and back glasses work fine though. Any ideas? It baffles me how so much can change when I have not touched any data files. Just a clean new driver for GPU. Edited June 27 by DBrown67
deadmanworking Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Nvidia updates since December have caused various issues, for a couple of weeks no videos were loading in PinballX unless you stayed on the November GPU drivers .. so you might try rolling back to older drivers and see what happens. Windows updates can also cause various issues, might also be worth looking into: https://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=win11-fix

I'm still on VPX 10.7 as I want everything to be right before I even start to go to 10.8 @ 64 bit. So after the GPU update, which itself went smoothly, Windows had altered my monitor setting to: Playfield > DMD > Backglass. And on 10.7 it needs to be Playfield > Backglass > DMD. Any B2S file with a built in DMD for 3rd screen had lost that extra bit. Pup-packs for DMD had gone. All the more modern DMDs had shifted to my backglass, as all the co-ordinates were now out due to Windows changing monitors 2 and 3 about. Spent half a day on this before noticing that wasn't right. So if anyone ever upgrades their GPU, first thing to check in Windows is if the monitors are still matching the order they were before. Once I'm satisfied with this I will be moving on to updating to 10.8. But I will be running that alongside 10.7. I don't want to have all my settings mashed again.
