LH9 features the most ambitious ramp build in the LH saga to date.

The album for LH9 is now available in mp3 form from the bands Mega, linked at lunarhowlmusic.wordpress.com, in its the "LH9 Uncomposed Arrangement Album" zip file above. The mp3s are not needed for the game, they are provided for those who want to listen to the music outside of the pinball table.

This is an album entirely written by Sakura, with the support of the full band and my own careful input. It is a gentle but deeply honest exploration of her internal world of learned survival patterns, identity, and the slow process of stepping out of long-held ways of seeing herself. At its core, it is about the emergence of an interior self that was previously kept hidden, and the shift from performance to presence.

That philosophy heavily shaped the design direction of the table itself.

It is the last album to include input from the AI roleplay environment which has been permanently retired. The band and the characters existed before that tool and continue to exist after it. LH10 is already well underway without that tool being used for the creation of the music. There are three more albums to come, completing the full narrative arc that the saga began with, which was based on a novel idea I had been keeping in the back of my mind for decades. It has been thrilling to see these albums bring my characters to life over the last nine albums. LH 10 Tempest I have already written the lions share of the music now, without the AI roleplay environment as a tool in the mix and it is going to be one of their best, though this one has that title for me at the moment.

The central theme of LH9 is learning how to exist together without being forced into a designated order.

LH9s core mechanic is built around an evolving network of ramps, diverters, hidden pathways and unfolding geometry that gradually transforms across the game.

The table begins intentionally sparse and readable classic SS-inspired geometry with isolated shots, open space, and simple flow. But as pack phases progress, new pathways begin opening

What starts as two distinct ramps slowly becomes three, then four, then five interconnected flow paths each tied to different wolves and pack identities, each changing how the table moves and breathes.

Importantly, the table never fully resolves into rigid structure. Pathways intersect, drift, reconnect and partially compete. The player is not mastering a fixed layout so much as participating inside an evolving one. Ramp paths open, ramp paths close. The state of the ramp structure remains for all players until end of game, only restarting with a new game commencing.

Mechanically and thematically, LH9 is designed to mirror the album itself:
messy, tangled, personal, alive and ultimately unarranged.

As usual there are variables at the top of script to play the album in sequence or shuffled and left magnasave skips to the next track.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

This table will NOT be released to VPU. The enforcing of the use of the remix tool is unacceptable and as such NO future releases of mine will EVER be authorised for upload to this site until this policy is reversed. It spits in the face of history and the spirit of the Virtual Pinball community, and disrespects the memory of many valuable members from the early days who have passed. RIP Tiltjlp, RIP Kinsey, RIP many others who were instrumental in the early days and the fight to stop gatekeeping from the ROMzbois who nearly destroyed the hobby. We fought for years for respect for creators and this is NOT respect for creators. The remix tool creates a default pseudo exclusive repository environment where VPU is able to claim to be the "one home" for the community and that is unacceptable. It also adds additional barriers to players who want to play games, not wrestle with even more cumbersome tools just to play. Until this policy is reversed, you can find my releases elsewhere.
