All PUP tables have stopped working various script errors, everything worked about a 3 weeks ago, on windows 11. Here is one of the errors

ActiveX component can't create object: 'PinUpPlayer.PinDisplay'

Runtime error
-------------
Line: 6575
Type mismatch: 'CustomBallLogoMode'

On my pinball machine I have disabled ALL updates.  Windows updates have messed up more vpins than you realize.  My vpin is not on the internet so i dont need virus updates or anything else.  If the system works, lock it down.

Lösning på "ActiveX component can't create object: PinUpPlayer.PinDisplay"
Efter installation av Windows-uppdatering KB5089573 slutade alla PuP-Pack-bord fungera i VPX. Felmeddelandet var:
ActiveX component can't create object: 'PinUpPlayer.PinDisplay'

Please be advised that members should not use any of the Windows 11 beta builds. Users should postpone installing the security updates on the second Tuesday of each month for at least 14 days.

I will say I just installed Security Update (KB5094126) (26200.8655) and all is still running well. I have not let KB5089573 install however, and will not.

From Nailbuster:

"OK. I believe I've got the fix/workaround for the latest win11 update KB5089573 problem.

The issue seems to be how win11 can block some activex/com registrations with 32/64bit surrogates now.

Thanks to @vpfiends for letting me hack-away remotely on his vpin over 3 days to figure/debug the issue out.

Note: you should only run the bat file registry fix if you have the error, not everyone has the issue so no need fix what isn't broke in win11.

DO NOT run this for win10 or older windows as it hasn't been tested and not needed in windows 10"

Thanks, Terry.

just to highlight, this is the May 26, 2026—KB5089573 (OS Builds 26200.8524 and 26100.8524) Preview that you need to not install if you use pup packs?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/may-26-2026-kb5089573-os-builds-26200-8524-and-26100-8524-preview-f378c8ae-0170-47c9-a1e9-dfef978c8e17

If you find that you have installed this update, owing to your settings on automatic updates, then, as terry highlights above, use the link above as a workaround fix.

In going forward, you need to be careful with all of the Microsoft monthly updates, and wait at least 2 weeks before installing any.

Tuesday's Win11 "Patch Tuesday" update (KB 5094126) doesn't break Popper if you've applied NailBuster's fix from the 573 KB. See Terry's post above for information regarding that. Nailbuster posted the fix over on the FB group after days of testing. MS is notorious for breaking things first, fixing them later...so as stated above; don't be so quick to update unless you know what you're doing. I wouldn't say to be afraid of updates, just don't be in a hurry if you're not an advanced user who's willing to take risks. Also shout out to Nailbuster for jumping on this thing like a champ to figure it all out. You guys have no idea how hard that dude worked on this to solve the problem. We're lucky to have guys like him, TerryRed, Dazz, HauntFreaks and MANY MANY others who put in so much hard work and TIME to spoil the hell out of all of us! We're lucky!
