PinballFerret Posted Sunday at 05:10 AM Posted Sunday at 05:10 AM I've been building this with Google Antigravity for a while to make my own life easier but I wanted to offer it to the community in case anyone else was interested. There's a steep learning curve to Visual Pinball, and the macOS and Linux versions are even more cutting-edge. So I created a package of tools to make things easier for anyone wanting to make a virtual pinball cabinet using either platform. VPX Manager for ES-DE is a local web server app that runs in your menu bar and makes table management simpler: Matches your .vpx files against the VPS database so you know what's out of date Walks you through installing ROMs, backglasses, PuPacks, AltColor, and AltSound for each table Scrapes artwork from ScreenScraper and VPinMediaDB automatically Automatically patches VBS and NVRAM files Assists users to set up PuP Pack files; translates Windows .bat files to work on macOS and Linux Sets up Visual Pinball as a system in Emulation Station-DE and manages your gamelist.xml file Uses a custom backglass art display that works in concert with ES-DE on a second monitor, synced to whatever you're browsing in ES-DE Packages tables for VPinball on iOS/Android (with AirSync support in Safari) It's free and open source, and runs natively on macOS and Linux: https://github.com/macsobel/VPX-Manager-for-ES-DE What sets this apart from other recent projects? This is focused at macOS and Linux users looking for a front-end to manage their tables and media files. There are very few options for macOS users as a front-end for pincabs.
