Pinup Popper 1.46 suddenly scrolling tables and loading VPX very slowly

Its an older table a friend bought locally that still has 1/46 on it. Was running fine, did some hardware clean up, there was a non working drive in the first nvme slot. And now Pinup popper is scrolling slowly, its loading VPX tables slowly. VPX tables load fine outside of PP. No idea what couldve happened by just doing that but he doesnt like the slow load times and that it drops down to desktop before the table starts. I dont blame him. Any help would be great.
