Hi.  Today I tried to start using Scorbit.  But the video by mpt3k which I watched a couple of days ago is now Private on the vpu home page.  The video seems to have disappeared from YouTube too.  I installed the Scorbit app on my phone, but it seems to have a Scorbit Wallet where you add funds, which implies this is not free free.  I tried to scan the QR code on The Munsters, but the app doesn't use a photo scanner it tells you to hold  the phone near the tap pad on the machine.  Has everything changed about Scorbit?

A new version released a few months back, 2.0 I believe. It included a lot of changes. I used Scorbit on Blood Machines yesterday, so it is working. There are a lot of helpful tutorials out there for this. I'll try to help as much as possible.

First thing to check, you have to enable Scorbit in the script. It is not enabled on vpins by default. It is really easy. You just open vpinballx, whichever version you use to run Munsters. Open the table, don't launch it. Open the script editor, it's one of the buttons on the left side pane. The script will open. Search for Scorbit. You will see Scorbit=0, change to Scorbit=1. Go to menu, compile. Close the script editor, save the table, close vpx, reopen, you should now see the QR code. In the Scorbit app, you go to Profile, click the 3 dots at the top right, settings, My Machines, click the + to add machine. Search for the game and select it. Select a variant, I'm not sure which one your version is based on but there are a few options, just pick the one you think it is. Create Machine. You will then have it in your list. Click Setup, Activate Scorbit, Pair with QR Code. Once paired, you are done. When you start a game, you go into the Scorbit app, Profile, Collections, The Munsters. Start a game and Scorbit will be active. You just have to click your profile name to start recording your score.

I'm going to go through this process with the Munsters to make sure I haven't missed anything. Will update this if needed.

The version I downloaded is for Future Pinball. I haven't done anything with Future, so not sure how much of the above applies.

Realized I didn't answer your other question.

Scorbit is still free. You can use it to record scores from virtual pinball and physical tables. The "add funds" feature is for physical machines. Some venues have the ability for you to pay for your game using the Scorbit app. You load money into the app, then tap a device on the table to pay and start a game. They can also use it for tournament play. I experienced this firsthand at Texas Pinball Festival. It was very cool.

Thanks so much cityskate. That's a really detailed explanation.  I had enabled Scorbit in the script.  I just got confused by the app's interface, but you clarified it really well and I managed to get the app to record scores on Munsters Pro VPIN . I'm using VPX. Now I know it works I'll try enabling some other games that support Scorbit and see if I get on the list of one of those leaderboards shown on VPU.
