mikeyg885 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I have just completed making a new cab for my vpinball with much better hardware. My old one is several years old and was starting to lag with some newer tables. What is the best way to copy all my files to new PC? Just do not want to have to re setup popper and all the tables all over again if at all possible. Please advise. Thank you.
deadmanworking Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Yeah it's possible and without too much trouble if you do it right. Most important part is that you keep the data on the old cab until you are sure everything transferred fine, and ideally also do an external backup first. Old machine should be updated to the same VPX version you are installing on the new one. Also export the following registry keys from the old machine: "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Future Pinball" "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Freeware\Visual PinMame" "HKCU\SOFTWARE\PinUPPopper" Also important to not lose your VPX settings, go to preferences > Ini/Editor options and check the option to save Vpinballx.ini in the app directory. Then Install AIO installer on new machine, update to identical version like on the old machine and make sure you can run tables without errors; then you can copy over your vPinball folder over the existing one and import the registry entries.
