HowardC Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I've been pulling my hair out all night and can't figure out what is going on. I have a couple of those 8x32 led matrix hooked up to the wemos mini pro via D5 and they blink red, green and blue as they should but nothing seems to connect to the board via serial... they just keep blinking in tables and pin up popper. Checked the usual stuff... com port is correct, cabinet.xml and the global config xml files are generated. Driver is installed although it's NOT the one arnoz recommends. I installed the one he suggested if you are having issues and his tiny tools could no longer update firmware, so I'm assuming it was causing an issue. Put the 64 bit one on there instead that doesn't have the option to disable the handshake. DOF itself is working as I also have some rgb gold leaf buttons hooked up to a ledwiz and they are working fine. Dof config tool has the device added and the matrix assigned to one of the "back MX" effects for testing. I'm at a loss. Are there any tools that allow you to send a test serial command to the wemos to see if that's the issue?
jedimasta Posted April 28 Posted April 28 You might try using one of the other .bin files from the tiny tools flasher. I had a similar issue of the LEDs just flashing from red to green to blue ad nauseum but switched from using the ws2812grb to ws2812bgrb and thing seemed to resolve.
HowardC Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 I'll try that thanks. Currently everything is in parts. Figured I'd go ahead and work on the mounting in the meantime.
