Updated by B2S Server and now I've got NO BACK GLASS

So, after a couple of years now, I finally updated my B2S Server.  Ran the Register App.  And then... nothing. No back glasses.  🙂

I'm not new to this by any means, but clearly I don't know how to resolve this.  Screen Res Identifier shows all of my screens as expected.  Also of note, the back glass literally isn't there.  So if I alt-tab, it's not like it's there but on the wrong monitor or hidden behind something else.  It's just not there.  Tables play fine, but no back glass.

 

Anybody have ideas?

You're not running VPX 10.8.1 by chance?

Newer version has stricter file name matching by default, are b2s files named exactly like the tables?

If you double click on a backglassfile, the backglass opens, if the server is properly registered.

Yes all of my tables I always make sure the name is an exact match.

So, first of all I never knew you could even do that.  So that's new knowledge.  🙂

But, second of all, the back glass launches no problem.

Make sure you're not running exclusive fullscreen mode unless you run a cabinet, same goes for the GL version of vpx.

Yes it's a cabinet.  4 screens (Playfield, Back Glass, Full DMD, Topper).  Thing is, the back glass literally isn't running when I launch the table.  It's not that the window is hidden... it's not there at all.  For whatever reason, running a table does not appear to invoke B2S Server anymore.

I've been having intermittent problems with b2s server 2.1.6 like this as well. It will pop up a window saying no screenres.txt found even though I always do have a tablename.res named exactly same as the table and b2s. I've made @jarr3 aware of this but he's a bit perplexed. I would suggest you trying downloading the older 2.1.5 version and register it then see if it works.

Did you install the new version in tables folder or (new) in the B2S sub directory? Check again that all files are present, even better re-download, unblock the file, extract the files and re-run the register app. 

 

Also like @Cliffy just said try the older version, for me the most stable version without issues was 2.1.4 mashup (which iirc was the one fixing a similar issue by rolling back some files)

Tried 2.1.5.1 now and still the same issue.  This is so strange!  It's not launching at all!  Tables play fine, but no black glass.

So you're launching VPX and the open the table, or do you double click on table file, or do you use a front end? Also you didn't post your VPX and Vpinmame versions, what are they exactly?
