Content Provider RobbyKingPin Posted March 22 Content Provider Posted March 22 View File Hurricane (Williams 1991) Thrills! Chills! Magic! Prizes! Ride the Hurricane! Hurricane is the final part of the rollercoaster trilogy. I was thinking to myself that is was a shame that the trilogy never got completed. Bord did Comet way before I started developing tables in this wonderful community. I updated Cyclone 2 years ago and have kept it up to date up till this point. But Hurricane somewhat got left in the dark and although some mods were made of it, none had the nFozzy treatment before. So when I build my new computer it started to become a thing I really wanted to do. I quickly had a small team of familiar faces from previous projects and quickly the project became so big that it took me over 2 months to get it into the shape you see here. Retro27 added an improved cabinet and a topper and had also improved a lot of textures and did touchups on the playfield as well. DaRdog donated a insane VR Mega room with an animated rollercoaster that is completely out of this world. DGRimmreaper animated the entire backglass in VR using the assets from hauntfreaks and Wildman as a starting point. But we quickly found out the setup was having a few flaws so I dove into the manual to sort out all 3 strings for the GI and all flashers as well. Hauntfreaks then provided me an updated backglass texture I also took the challenge to start adding baked elements into the table itself. I started with the backglass, and with help from Mecha_Enron quickly understood how to do this. The real tricky part is having a rotating wheel mech. Obviously baking lights into a rotating part can't be done without it looking off. So I added a multiple layer setup to make it all blend in as natural as possible. I also added baked playfield shadows to enhance the GI on the table. Tomate added baked textures on the ramps and helped me understand how to set this up myself with all correct shaders and render settings. I ended up doing them all over because we have 2 GI strings on the playfield He also edited the ramp primitives too. I also got acces to one of the Blender files from a VPW project to make me understand even more. In the end I baked the backglass and topper, playfield shadows, sidewalls and custom blades, Juggler and the part above the Hurricane ramp with the scoring of 1M, 2M and 5M,all plastics and all ramps. In the end a very satisfying result and once again I raised the bar and I am a big step closer to forfilling my ambition to do a full VLM project in the future! This table requires VP 10.8 and VPinMame 3.6. This table includes a lot of new options. I included an extra option for people suffering from issues with anaglyph 3d and headtracking. A lot of options deal with reflections, like a new option to have the backglass reflect on the playfield wich will work in all formats. When I have PWM plus refractions plus reflections enabled on the table people in VR will see black holes/blobs inside the lights. So I added an extra ini file for VR to deal with all of this straight out of the box. Just add it in and you are good to go! These options will help taking those away but feel free to try them out when you like. I just disabled them inside that ini file for VR. I only recommend using this option when really needed, because we found out it does have a performance impact. I added extra custom instruction cards, sideblades, metal on the cabinet, custom GI options including an RGB Rainbow. The backglass can have a warm incendescent feel or a brighter one as option. I added many LUT options. Optional enviromental sounds. (only in VR) Support for the Legends Cabinets. You can use the option to enable the Legends Cabinet setting to use the bigger sideblade option and a second ini file has been added to make it fit. This ini file is only needed if you want to use this option. I do ask in return to not see this being patched even when I release it as free to mod. Feel free to reach out to me instead if you want extra art added (real art only available on a real table). If somebody would ignore this I would be crushed... VP9 - Original version by TAB - 2009. ninja2bceen Posted March 22 Posted March 22 thanks for the incredible table, im finding that the jugller left and right side actually freezes the game. I tried to chatgpt it but still having problems. The experience goes enter the juggler ramp, specifically the left side but im sure the right side does it as well. The carnival wheel spins on the dmd and the backglass full dmd top backglass also spins. The backglass will keep spinning forever while you land on points. After points are won, the ball never releases and the flippers are not functional. The only keys that are functional is alt f4 to kill the game. Not even the menu option comes up with f12 after you enter the juggler. For me once you get in that shot, the game ends where you have to force quit. Could you assist in what needs to be done within the script so that the game can continue? I checked the prior version and i also see this happen. I have selinoids, underlighting, beacons, fan. Maybe its something with dof? Once i enter the juggler, everthing is frozen except for the spinning backglass, thoughts?

Are you able to replicate it? no change the table is only playable if i dont hit the juggler shot Edited March 23 by ninja2bceen
thechadisgr8 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Beautiful table!!! Plays almost exactly like the real one I have locally. Any reason you could think of why the backglass is spinning slowly and out of sync with the reflection? Running as exe and not doesn't change anything. Content Provider RobbyKingPin Posted March 24 Author Content Provider Posted March 24 I got issues with the backglass as well. But I didn't have that with the older file. Technically both are very identical just some bigger textures so it's a complete mystery to all of us why this is happening to certain people. The one in VR has nothing to do with the b2s because that rotation is programmed inside the script and all baked textures as well. I do must say that this forum never gives me any notification when somebody writes here. So please go to the table itself and tag me when you need help. I otherwise will not be notified and I cannot backlog every table just to see if people are having issues. Forums are on the way of the dodo anyway with Discord being the place to be these days... Also that juggler issue being reported is a complete mystery to me. Nobody else seem to have this issue either. All I can say is make sure you run the official release of VPinMame 3.6 or higher (any from the release page on Github I'd recommend)
RabidUrko Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Must admit im a fan of forums rather than Discord, but im very old lol
ninja2bceen Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) Hello, yes this is very odd as i have 1500 unique tables installed and working. I tried different backglass then the full dmd and i still get this issue. I have a alt color file for a color dmd, i've tried redownloading the rom. Im on this pinmame version 3.6.0.1227 ecd032e So no one has reported this? I tried chatgpt and it had me disable the juggler code well add something at the bottom and that freed up the ball for a few seconds then it would freeze again. I cant make sense of this. Got any ideas? Unsure why this would be the only table im having trouble with? I have a cleveland design ultimate kit so i have dof, fan, beacons, selinoids. Head scratcher here....when i hit the juggler shot, the backglass spins as it should but it keeps spinning indefinetely, my leds freeze, hd matrix loops, and playfield is frozen, all i can do is alt f4? @RobbyKingPin Edited March 26 by ninja2bceen

I am however using the latest version of VPX 10.8 and latest vpinmame 3.7. My B2S Server is also updated. Any reason why you haven't updated your vpinmame? Hopefully you're not using VPX 10.8.1, that's not supported. Also, have you made any modifications to the table itself? Have you tried deleting your table .ini file and re-testing using just the default settings?

I havent updated vpinmame for no reason other then scared to updated lol. no modifications to the table, will try deleteing the ini, i tried the nvram already
ninja2bceen Posted March 27 Posted March 27 no change after deleting the ini, do you have a lot of dof set up or undercab lighting? there has to be soemthing different here. Unsure why this is the only table that locks up, turned off refletions to help even and juggler always freezes the game both left and right
ninja2bceen Posted March 27 Posted March 27 if i download bigus which has no dof, i have no freeze on juggler. Boy id love to figure this out
Content Provider RobbyKingPin Posted March 29 Author Content Provider Posted March 29 There is nothing to figure out. For this you need the official releases of VPX 10.8 and VPinMame 3.6 or higher. You aret he only one with this issue... Please just download any of these. Just make sure you rightclick them and check if it's blocked under properties. The extract the entire folder into the VPinMame folder and run that setup to install. All I can say it that the requirments I ask are released over one year ago so there is no excuse not to update, unless you want to keep on playing with the old games perhaps... https://github.com/vpinball/pinmame/releases
