Hello everyone, My issue is driving me crazy! When I start 10.8 64bit... Any table, you can see the pup on the backglass for a second and then it goes black.. The pup is still playing, you just cant see it. When I exit the table, you again can see the pup for a second before it shuts down. Any help would be appreciated thankyou.

I figured it out, posting in the hope that it helps somebody else. If you right click on the black window where the Backglass should be it brings up the B2S settings, select run as exe, save, restart table. I'm fairly certain that prior to updating right clicking the Backglass did not bring up any kind of a menu, which is why it wasn't set that way to begin with as I do that on all b2s files.

@dicksnuffy THANK YOU!!!

that did the trick....

Although I'm sure it was my default setting before somewhere with updating or so it was changed and I had the same issue.

Although not easy to change (I could not see any mouse-pointer when starting the table) I managed to change it and now it's working again, thanks!

I seen a few people with this 'rogue' b2s black-window.  Did you recently upgrade b2s server manually?  which version are you on?  Was this a baller install setup or a manual/older type vpin setup?

Thanks for 'coming in'...let's see if we can shine a light on this problem.

I am on P.Player V1.6.1 Beta 6.

B2S is V. 2.1.3

Direct run from VPX.8-64

All SW up to date (afaik)

No recent updates on the B2S server but I did recently update P.Player to V2.0 beta and reverted back to mentioned version as V2 was only for 1 table and I prefer a stable system.

No clue if V2 would have changed something but what I do know is that the pup-pack  (Transformers with the TerryRed PuP-Pack (see https://vpuniverse.com/.../6835-transformers-stern-pup-pack/) certainly did work (long time ago as I do not play this table often, if I check my SW track record I think it was PPlayer V1.5Beta 3).

What might be interesting to know are these things:

I did not have a totally black BG:  when VPX was busy loading the table I could see a frame (static layer) with all the video's and graphics as it should be.
Very briefly though as when VPX was ready loading the table and started running it all graphics disappeared and onl the overlay was on the backglass.

Also when exiting the table I could briefly see the graphics within the overlayframe popping up for a split second.

Same problem I had wth Batman Dark Knight: only the overlay was visable when playing the table. I solved it there by disabeling the overlay_frame : that made the video appear so I changed the size of it to fill the whole screen (-> problem solved)

What I also tried (without succes)
- I deleted the vlc directory in the %appdata%

- Checked if  I was running V2.8 of VLC (which was ok).

- Did also turn off color in the dmd
- Tried the various player options (like standard, Open GL Direct X etc) in PPlayer.

- Tried different tables (which uses the same rom) but as expected, no succes.

- Tried to delete the overlay frame...couldn't find it
- Tried all 'make transparent' checkboxes in the PuPeditor for this pack.

Only the suggestion from dicksnuffy which I tried today made the pup pack work.

But there might be something strange:

When I right-click the B2S server the default setting is 'run in .exe mode.

But to make the pup pack work I had to click on Start this BG as exe.

Hope this information might help you finding a clue: I also added some pictures to go with this story.

The strange part is that if you are using transformers with puppack,  then there should be no tablename.directb2s used,  so how are you right-clicking on the backglass server is there is no directb2s loaded with table?  perhaps you have a <blank>.directb2s file in your tables folder?

Updating pup/popper doesn't mess or touch any vpx or b2s settings so it something else that caused a empty directb2s form to show up on a pup-pack table.

You really should be using v2.0 instead of v1.6beta these days.  thousands have updated to v2.0 fine and I havent been working on any open issues with it for a long while.  (old pups still use v1.5 driver with the new v2.0 beta player).

Well...the screenshot of the B2S I showed here is not from the Transformers pup pack as running a puppack and making screencaptures etc is very difficult with no mousepointer etc so therefor I ran an other table to show you the -exe story.

But...as dicksnuffy also says: if you right click on the backglass where the pup should run it is possible to get this same menu (no empty .directb2s in the tables folder)

And when clicking the start BG as .exe button (as said: very difficult to point to with no visable mouse) it then works...

I will (re-)update to V2, thanks for your information.

@NailBuster

As Transformers PuP was running great I started  Batman Dark Knight with the associated PuP pack.

Although the pack started fine I did not see the video on my BG which should be visable inside the underlay frame (the frame itself was visable), same situation as with Transformers.

Sound from the BGvideo was there so the file itself was started, just not visabe.

Although I did not see an mousepointer : just moving the mouse and clicking here and there did eventually pup up the B2S server-menu as shown above in a reply.

I agree that this is weird as there is no BG but it showed up.

When 'pressing' the button "Start this BG as .exe" and re-starting the table the pack works fine and the inside_the_underlay-frame_video is visable.

Trying to right click the mouse now does not give the B2S menu any more (also not needed any more but as a test: it does not show up as was to be expected).

One last thing: normally I start my tables with the PF in landscape (as is to be usual).

When I start a table with the PF in portrait PuP makes a mess of it logically but my BG shows (partially) on my topper.

In the situation where the video didn't show up on the BG it now is visable on the topper (so to be clear: this is when the Pup back with the PF in landscape does not display the video on the BG)

But, as also pointed out by dicksnuffy, enabeling Run this in .exe mode in the B2S menu once will solve all issues.
