After 5 years working constantly on version 4.x and adding a lot of features without making a major release it is time 

to consider the current version as stable and bump the version number to 5.0.

Here are the features that have been added to 4.x 

- add support for Raspberry Pi based Multimedia Interface (MMI) with highspeed access to display and input data

- overall speedup with better Performance for existing colorization

- add support for DotMation machines on PIN2DMD XL

- add support for Capcom 256x64 ond PIN2DMD HD

- add support for SysXDMD module allowing colorization of alphanumeric machines

- add support for Sleic IOMoon (enhancer set to off)

- 64 colors coloring support for all coloring modes and all device types that allow real time coloring without frame loss

- fix various minor issues (details in 4.x commits)

feel that we've come a long ways since the days of 2.x versions when I started my VPin build. Pin2DMD was a game changer for my table . Thank you for all your work on this project over the many years. Congratulations on the milestone of v.5

How much has everything changed in the last couple years? Never finishing Getaway has really bugged the shit out of me but video mode killed it.

 

New better editor for that? I know 64 colors is supported what else?  fill in the old newb :)

Welcome back ! Getaway Video mode was done by "Newbie" with Layered Color Mode. His posts and his work was removed by his request. I think he passed it to NetzZwerg but not sure about that. Upgradeing / replaceing graphics to HD (256x64) is also possible due to PIN2DMD HD panels.
