Medieval Madness (Williams 1997) VPW v1.0.1, sound problem

I'm a relative neophyte, but this is the only such problem I've encountered with the dozens of tables I downloaded from the great site.  On this one, the brackground sounds (music, dialog, etc.) are much too low.  I've adjusted (through F12 menu) the ball and mechanical sounds to compensate, but that doesn't much help.  I'm using roms mm_109b and mm_10 (I do not find rom mm_10b that the authors reference, here or anywhere else).

 

Does anyone know what's going on?

To adjust the Volume start the table, press End/Home once and use the 8 and 9 key to change the volume..
