r3trogear Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Ran into an issue this morning, that I have not yet encountered. I added 6 new tables last night before work at 8. this moring I got home at 8, and jumped right on my setup, having been thinking about KotH all night. I needed playfie;ld and backglass media though. Did my usual auto batch recording, after testing manually first, which I still always do before comitting. 4 of the 6 tables recording went smoothly. KotH and Charlie Brown xmas captured backglass as my playfield, which I thought was wierd. First time it ever happend to me, and why only 2 of the tables? I deleted the mp4's, and ran again on just the two. This time both had Last Dragon backglass as my playfeild... weird, right? I deleted both mp4 again, rebooted PC and ran manually, and now it was completely missing the playfield, and captured my desktop screen instead. Checked all my settings, and even followed a youtube video that I found through a quick search on google. I had already done most of what Nialbuister, and the video suggested. I mean, afterall, I had no issues the last 4 years anyways, and have captured 161 playfeilds, and an equal amount of backglass/pup videos, without fail. this is when I start getting frustrated, as I dont know where else to look. Usually I can figure most issues out through deductive reasoning, past experience with both Windows and Linux, and just general knowledge of how software works with hardware. Being someone who enjoys the process, and the looks of my setup, as much as I enjoy playing, I simply cannot let this go, and there doesnt seem to be media in the webdownloader yet for the two tables im having trouble with, Charlie Browns Xmas, and King of the Hill.
deadmanworking Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Did you by any chance just upgrade to the latest Nvidia graphics driver package? I lost all video playback in my front end Pinballx after that and could only get it back by doing a clean reinstall of the previous (November) graphics driver, very weird behavior.
r3trogear Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 Figured it out. Even though I added a line in my launch script to run Vpinballx64.exe in record mode, it did not save, or was possibly overwritten. Makes no sense as the other 4 tables recorded fine.

I havent updated Nvidia in ages. It actually fails for me every time anyway. I honestly dont know what happned, and the log tells me really nothing of substance. the fact that 4 out of 6 recorded fine is still puzzling to me.
