Nordfinn Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 I’m new to all this. Have gotten pretty good at setting up the em tables for my desktop, but I’m encountering a few puzzles with ss setups. For example, I finally figured out how to move the bigger, orange DMD that VpinWorkshop puts in their tables (can be moved in the backglass view of the table editor). But the “other” DMD, the red one, I’ve tried to put into the space provided for it in some of the “B2s with full dmd” images (like those provided by hauntfreaks). I can place it there, but then when I reopen the table, the red DMD is behind the image. Can’t figure out how to make that not happen. Anyone know? Also: If I move the orange DMD into that space, would it also be covered over by the B2s image? This is happening, for example, with VpinWorkshop’s Fish Tales and hauntfreak’s associated B2s (which look and run great). Thanks, N.
deadmanworking Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 You can try right clicking the B2S and selecting Form to back or standard instead of Form to front, but z layer order is always kinda complicated and sketchy.. It's better to give backglass and dmd their each own space with no overlap, can do that with screenres.txt or .res files
digitalarts Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Or maybe play vpinball as it's intended - in a cab, with separate Displays for playfield, backglass and Dmd 😉 Just a suggestion... Of course, you can play vpinball in the way you want 😄
Nordfinn Posted December 10, 2025 Author Posted December 10, 2025 Nice thought, but I live in a New York City apartment. Which means a tiny apartment. I'll be playing on the same PC on which I write, communicate, watch broadcast tv, and what all. It's also my music server. But I'm glad to have made the discovery. The tables are all working, looking, and sounding great. Will be a boon when I'm visited by young relatives. Not that I'm not enjoying playing myself. N.
