DMD glitchiness on only 3 particular tables out of 293

I'm having DMD issues  where the graphics have issues refreshing and overlap during the scoring faze then on the start of the next ball it goes back to normal until i lose the ball again. It started with The Addams Family and like you also having the issue with Creature from the Black Lagoon. Also I found out today Hurricane is suffering from the same DMD glitchiness. I've set up my machine with Pinball baller installer for the front end which is handy. Out of the 293 tables I have setup those three are the only ones doing it. I just can't seem to find a fix. I'm running the current versions of everything. Also deleted the roms and redownloaded them, tried different versions of the tables and deleted the nvram at least once. I'm not sure what I am missing. I have others with the same issues here and someone posted a video showing it in action. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction any help with be appreciated.

I replied to the thread on Reddit already, but this issue was driving me crazy, so I figured I would copy + paste my reply here in case it helps you or anyone else that encounters this:

I was having issues with the same ROMs you mentioned and managed to resolve it.

I saw folks mentioning they updated VPinMAME to 3.6 and that resolved the issues for them, but I was already on 3.6, so I took a closer look. It turns out that the PinUp Popper Baller installer (which I used just 3 weeks ago) is installing an older build of 3.6. It was installing version 1167 whereas the latest release on GitHub is 1227.

Downloading the latest release and placing the updated VPinMAME.dll and VPinMAME64.dll files in the VPinMAME directory is what specifically resolved the issues. I didn't touch any other files.

Thanks moshferatu. I had the same problem. Updating the dll files as you describe did the trick. I can finally enjoy TAF again. I had also used PinUp Popper Baller installer for my setup a few weeks ago (May 2026) and so the issue is still there with the 3.6 VPinMAME that is installed with Baller Installer. I think I had the same DMD problem with Creature from the Black Lagoon way back last year. Hopefully it will resolve that too.
