charchar Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Hi Everyone, this has been bothering me for some time. Many VP tables have a ball that is stretched horizontally ONLY at the top of the playfield. This implies that there is a perspective being applied to the ball as if it were a 2D object. A 3D sphere is always a sphere no matter what angle it is viewed. Try it. Place a ball on a table and look at the ball from any perspective. It’s always perfectly round. Why does our ball stretch at the top of the table? It doesn’t look right. It breaks the illusion. I’ve noticed that a few tables have found a way to correct this on their own but most haven’t. I’m currently on RC7 64 but have noted this effect for many releases prior. And it does tend to change slightly with some releases so I can’t be the only one concerned about it. Happy Friday everyone! chachar
