hi everybody, i'm trying to use a keyfile for a nucleo board of a pin2dmd.

i put the key file into the microsd but when i turn it on it goes on telling me "not activated".

i thought it was shield fault and i tryed with other 2 different shields but nothing happened.

So i tryed to activate from the pin2dmd.exe software but when i go to device/activate and browse for the file it returns me : device activation failed! please check www.pin2dmd.com

i tryed to write the firmware again and again and repeat the procedures i told you but same result.

it seems my nucleo board is locked. did it happen to someone else? how did you solve?

thank you

what firmware version are you trying to install?
does the activation file number match the keyfile? sometimes there are only minor issues like "0" (zero) instead of "O" (letter) or similar

the key file name perfectly match with the display uid

and firmware version is the 4.53 but it is correctly installed from the st-link.

what i miss to say, and i don't know if it can be useful, is that the nucleo (with 3 different shields) cannot read the microsd not only for the key file but also for the colorization.

could it be i have to remove or move some jumpers in a different position?

if you have this issue with different nucleo boards then try to solder the pins again ;)
I've had this issue as well in the past and although the solder points often look good they're not always...
additionally it COULD be an issue depending on what nucleo loader (ST-Link) is used.
tbh, i didn't do any nucleo stuff in the last few years so i'm probably no big help. but you can ask anytime ;)

the solders are not the problem because i can' t put the key file even with the st-link without the shield connected.

About the st-link i have the same problem with st-link and cube programmer, i think the problem is the nucleo itself

just a simple test to check if the shield works in any way:
put an empty card (fat32) in the card reader and power the pin2dmd. the card should contain a UID file withoit extension name.

this way you can test the reader.
