A little bit off topic: using JoyToKey to build up a DIY Arcade Stick / Problems while configuring vertical axis

Hi there,

I hope someone can help me out with an idea/advice.

Some time ago I built up my own pinball controller using a set of USB encoder (EG STARTS) and some arcade buttons. Also part of the set was a joystick which I did not had in use up to now.

Now my idea was to use that stick, the rest of the buttons in combination with a single new encoder board (same as for the pinball controller) to build up a DIY arcade stick.

Mounting all together was no problem. It starts while configuring the JoyToKey-Software which works nice for my pinball controller. I just would like to set up an easy configured stick with four directions to play a round of PAC MAN but I have problems to configure the vertical axis.

I already tried two possibilities:

a) using the AWSD-keys: A (left) and D (right) are working fine but W and S for up and down show no effect

b) the same happens when I configure the arrow keys analogous to the stick directions: horizontal axis is working, vertical not

I already tried even a second stick which shows the same effect...

 What could be wrong?

Many thanks in advance and

best regards

Klaus
