GG_GG Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 Hi there, I had everything working ok with visual pinball, then I tried to save a change of display in a table (Table editor), as I couldn't manage to save it, I tried pushing all keyboard keys....until I lost the dmd display, and now, even after rebooting, the dmd is not showing anymore. I have a realdmd (zedmd). Pressing F1, everything is ok. Here is the log of the dmd, it says it crashes upon launch of a table, but I do not understand why. The dmd itself is working fine (USB mode) and the test with the car is also working fine. No clue so far ... has anyone been encountering the same issue and has a solution ? I am not really willing to uninstall the whole and install again.
GG_GG Posted August 5, 2025 Author Posted August 5, 2025 I answer to myself. It appears to be a know bug of dmdext and a push on the RST button of the ESP32 of the DMD seems to resolve the issue. In case this may help someone else.

Just in case other's run into the same: I used a cheap ESP8266 (you can also use an Arduino or similar), with a relais board, and a simple script. After boot wait 10 seconds, then set a pin to close the relais for 0.5 seconds, then release. So that hack makes a Reset 10 seconds after the computer boots - and this "fixes" that weird issue. The ESP is powered by the 5V from the DMD matrix.
