Does anyone know how to remove the text from Text Zone 1 when in the System Menu. It's the text immediately under the wheel images that says things like "System Exit", "Turn Off PC", and "CONFIRM System Exit". I've been through "PuPMenuScript.txt.", "PupMenuScriptSysLanguage.txt", "PupMenuScriptSysOptions.txt", and "PuPMenuThemeOptions.txt" about 12 million times and can't find the answer. Editing the few System Menu references in these files doesn't do anything. With the edits I've made to the other text zones, the Text Zone 1 information is redundant, so I'd like to get rid of it. It even says on the wheels what each option does, so it's doubly redundant.

Speaking of the wheels, I'd like to edit them, too. Anybody know how to replace the default wheels ("System Exit", "Shutdown", "Restart" etc.) with others? Doesn't seem to be anything in Media Manager that deals with it.

Thanks!

Okay, I solved half of my own question:

For some reason, setting  "pShow_Text_Zone1F" in the "TEXT ZONES" section of "PuPMenuThemeOptions.txt" to "0" doesn't disable it in the System Menu like it seemingly should (it's one of the first things I tried). However, you can hide it in the System Menu by setting "FontMaxChar_Zone1F" to "0" in the "MAX CHARACTERS" section instead. A bit inelegant, but it works.

If anyone has pointers on changing the System Menu wheel images, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

I should have asked these questions months ago. Once I did, I quickly figured it all out myself.

For posterity:

  • Removing Text Zone 1F from the System Menu - Set "FontMaxChar_Zone1F" to "0" in the "MAX CHARACTERS" section of PinUpSystem>PUPMenuScriptThemeOptions.txt
  • Changing the wheel images in the System Menu - Replace the images in PinUpSystem>POPMedia>Default>System>pthumbs with whatever you want (must keep the file names the same, though), making sure to rotate them to the same orientation as your cabinet playfield (probably 90 degrees counter-clockwise)
    • Don't know if the non-rotated images one level up (in PinUpSystem>POPMedia>Default>System) work for landscape layouts, but editing them changed nothing for my cabinet
  • Actually:
    • Delete the regular-sized and small version of the wheel images you want to change in PinUpSystem>POPMedia>Default>System>pthumbs
    • Switch out the wheel images you want to change with your new versions in PinUpSystem>POPMedia>Default>System, but keep them the same name as the originals (e.g. "systemexit.png")
    • The next time you access those wheel images in Popper, the rotated regular and small-sized versions will be automatically generated in PinUpSystem>POPMedia>Default>System>pthumbs
