Table terminiated before initialized? Huh??? On desktop PC, not on cabinet

Loaded up Visual Pinball last night after a long hiatus. This is happening on a Windows 10 desktop PC, running Visual Pinball 10.8.0 FINAL (Rev2051 (28dd6c3), windows DirectX 32bits). I tried installing 10.7.x, but none of the tables would open. Loving the updated graphics, and game play is much closer to the games I used to play during my college days.

 

All in all, I only play a handful of machines. But I see an issue on a few machines I do play. I get a VBScript error on Medieval Madness and Doctor Who, and a few others.

 

For example, This is what the error looks like:

Machine "dw_l2" (Doctor Who (L-2)) terminated before initialized, check the rom path or rom file!

After clicking okay, the Screen opens with the Table, but it doesn't run and no DMD. F3 reset does nothing. I can escape out without a problem. The program does not crash or lock up.

 

I double checked PINMAME to make sure it was installed correctly, and it is. The paths all point to the correct locations. I downloaded the proper zip ROM for this site and placed it in it's zipped form in the the rom folder. I even swapped out my zipped roms to see if they would make the game work.

 

What else could I try out to get these few tables to work? 

I've reinstalled, I've restarted after install. Double checked the registry for errors.

I've swapped the downloaded ROMS with older ROMs I've had for years on my server and I know worked.

I've gone through settings for other games that work, to see if something is different, but nothing jumps out.

Is there an options I should have checked or unchaecked in Visual Pinball or PinMame?

 

I'm anxious to learn what's going on in the program, and how to fix it so these games will work.

Any suggestions?

@Acrylikhan your error means that ROM is not found. Might be a double install of VPinMAME and it's looking in a different ROM folder from where you have put the Roms. Do you have the latest version of VPinMAME installed and initialized as well?

Yes. Latest Vpinmame is installed, version 3.6.0.1227.ecd032e I can run all the roms I have in the folder. They all run the test perfectly.

I checked and this is the only version of VPinmame installed. All the paths point to the correct folders. You mention "initialized"... is there an check box I should look for in one of the Visual Pinball menus?, Like a .dll that should appear somewhere in the folders?

 

I can run Star Trek TNG, and Terminator 2, Fish Tails, and they play GREAT! But for some reason some titles just won't start. It's a mystery!

I'm wondering... was this table meant for a Cabinet build only? Is that why it doesn't work on just a PC set up?

@Acrylikhan there's not really a distinction between cab and desktop except the number of screens so this should not affect the functionality of the tables. Can you list you software versions for all programs? Also do you have 64bit version of VPinMAME installed? All the Visual C and .net updates? 

Also which are the exact table versions giving you trouble?

I'll check on the Visual C and .net updates... they should be. I think the 64-bit version is installed for VPINMAME is installed, but I do not have the Visual Pinball X 64 installed. It keeps telling that XINPUT1_3.dll is missing. I've tried reinstalling but same error.

Visual C++ - 14.44.35208 (just updated today!)

.net - 9.0.301

If you need creators, I'll look them up. I've tried multiple table builds, but they all seem to have the same PINMAME terminating, or a memory error.
