Patching Stern Tables Crashes Vp

Any of the recent patches to stern tables ie: ironman, xmen etc.. Crash VP when I load them. Even with the new 9.9 release. VP loads one progress bar block and totally freezes, end task crash. Any advice out there ? Thanks in advance.
