Black Border On Dmd

I am getting a black border around my DMDs

I know something similar will happen if you have direct draw turned off and the vpinmame window is sized out of the porportional-ratio of a DMD. It only has certain resolution jumps it will make (whereas with direct draw it will fill any shape), and fills the rest of the space with black.

 

Personally, I keep ddraw off. To get rid of excess black-fill I turn the border on temporarily so I can scale the window as close to the DMD size I want as possible.

Thanks sir, DDRAW it is. I couldn't get it scaled right, the border went away at certain points but never the size I needed so I'll keep it on now

my empty area is under the DMD

 

I added this line to NBA Fastbreak

Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("ddraw") = 1    

 

I changed the value from 1 to 0 and it only got smaller.  I had to set it back to 1 and I deleted the line.

Interesting, I as well get it on NBA Fastbreak, Monopoly, TSPP, Ripleys....etc. DDRAW on or off doesn't remove the black border on these.

open your vpinmame setup utility and click on the "setup paths" button.  check that "Display" is set to "defualt" and not any specific screen.  that fixed a similar issue for me.

I am having the same issue. I have checked that "Display" is set to "defualt" and not any specific screen, but still get the black boarder on some games. Any suggestions?
