ZoltanGaal Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 Hi all, I'm trying my hand a creating a table. I hear people asking for Hi-Res Scans of playfields, and backglasses. Is there a repository for these scans? or is it just individuals asking, getting it sent to them and then using it for their own table? Thank you. Michael in Reston, VA P.S. I thought I asked this before, but I don't see it in my activity. So, if this is a duplicate ask, feel free to send some kind words to this brain fogged user.
Content Provider Schlabber34 Posted April 22, 2025 Content Provider Posted April 22, 2025 I would say that about 99% of all quality scans out there have already been used in quality tables. If you want to make a new one you either have the table IRL or you know somebody who has it. Then the owner has to strip the PF and scan it. Most people use a regular A4 scanner. Some of them work better then others. You overlap each scan 50% to the previous one and stitch it together with a tool that does it for you. Same for plastics. Toys are 3D scans made with an iPhone. Don't waste your time on redraws. A redraw is only accurate when the base is a scan. So it makes no sense. No need to prerender textures with Blender, but meanwhile the VPX standard is a 100% recreation in dimension and artwork.
