I have messed around with the VR settings ( Scale Table To Width (in cm))  table  to change the table size for just some crazy fun, but also to really admire the work and art everyone put into the tables as it really lets you see this.

I tried something like 500.00 and OMG I was a spec of dust on a playfield ramp.

Just give it a try  for some of the  wildest views, I have yet to try small, But think I'm gonna try it out..

If you have tried, do you leave it at default or do you use a different number. Currently I have been using 100.00 cm.🍻

Yes I have also tried extreme table sizes in VR by adjusting that setting to a very high number. I seem to remember that the playability is somewhat limited by how high you can adjust your player height to (there's a height limit if I remember correctly and it takes a lot of keypresses to get to the right height on a huge table). It was certainly a trippy experience though and kind of mimics those massive real world pinball tables that are sometimes created for events etc.

@Gravy So im told the best OpenVR DLL is from 2023 as the newer DLL's affect some of the tables. Do you know much about this?

I don't remember and I think im a little confused , do the DLL's go in the OpenCompossit folder and do I not update OpenComposit when it wnats to update?

I know they go in the VPX folder lol.

Thanks for any info you got.🍻

Ahh, found my answer The October 2023 versions of the OpenComposite DLLs (specifically openvr_api.dll for 32-bit and 64-bit) are often recommended because they include fixes for issues like washed-out colors and overly bright scenes in VPX VR, which were problems in later builds. Newer updates to OpenComposite introduced compatibility issues with VPX that the Visual Pinball developers would need to address, so the older, stable October 2023 versions are considered a sweet spot for many users.

The suggested openvr_api64.dll for Opencomposite has a file date of 28th Oct 2023, I use a local version of this file which overwrites the steam version and it goes directly in the Visual Pinball folder. If you have a system wide version of opencomposite running at the same time then I'm not sure if this will cause an issue or whether it checks the local version first. Note that if you ever update VPX, it comes with the steam version of the openvr_api64.dll, so be sure to keep a backup of the OC version when updating and copy it back over the top of the steam version.

Newer versions of OC can cause problems yes, I think one example table that has issues might be Avengers but I can't recall exactly, there are likely other tables with issues as well.

The VR files environment put together by Panasony has the correct DLL for OC (OpenComposite v1.0.6). You can find it at https://w.atwiki.jp/visualpinball/ as well as some great advice.

Well I guess if all I need to do is keep the old DLL's then is there any reason for me to keep  Opencomposit installed?

I do play American Truck Sim In VR (by switching Opencomposit to Steam VR ),

Now if Opencomposit is uninstalled how would that work?

Should these 2023 Dll's be in a steam folder?🍻

If you only want to use OC with VPX then probably uninstall from the system wide version you have currently.

The OC version of openvr_api64.dll goes straight into your Visual Pinball main folder, the same folder as VPinballX_GL64.exe (its already located in this folder in Panasony's setup files. The steam versions of the files are backed up into the steam folder of his setup just in case you ever need them.)

I assume you are running 64 bit GL VPX?

If running 32 bit VPX, then I'm fairly sure you just need to copy openvr_api64.dll and change the name to openvr_api.dll as its the exact same file as far as I know (99% sure on that one).

If you are running OC, and using Virtual Desktop, make sure to set the VD streamer Options setting "OpenXR Runtime" to "VDXR" on your PC.

By the way, on my GTX1080ti card, the FPS increase with Opencomposite compared to SteamVR is considerable (I think it was a 20-30fps increase at a guess) so its well worth the effort.
