Gravy Posted April 6, 2025 Posted April 6, 2025 I posted this video to Youtube a few days ago which I thought you guys might be interested in and perhaps give it a try on your own VR setups. Would love to hear your feedback. Basically, it's a dead simple way to add echo and reverb to the table audio. This adds an extra feeling of immersion in VR rooms that feature large spaces, cave/castle room etc. Simply use the environmental audio settings of your sound card/chip to add the environment effects in realtime. On my own setup here I needed to use the "Realtek Audio Console" app that comes with my motherboard. You may have something similar or it may also be available in the speakers/enhancements/environments setting of Windows audio setting. Skip forward to 1:25 in the video if you want to hear the environmental audio results and skip the first part with regular audio. I use my Realtek Audio "stone room" environment for this particular video which matches with the room quite well. Suggest viewing with a decent set of speakers or headphones for best effect.
Spacegoogie Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 I use a Pinsim cab and if im home alone I use the 7.1 ssf, otherwise i'm in headphones. I will try this out for sure, maybe with the fx not as strong, but good idea to bring to the table ( no pun intended )🍻

Yeah you could use it on a non VR table as well, but there may be a disconnect as to what your ears hear and what your eyes see. What I mean by this is if you are playing in a bedroom (non VR) and the audio sounds like a cave, this may sound a little odd. Whereas if you are playing in VR in a cavern room, having the audio reverb/echo effects match the size of the room really adds to the realism.
