Hi all,

I've just started trying to get visual pinball to work and I have the walking dead table working, for the most part, in VR -- my only issues is weird DMD lag (or at least that's what I notice lagging).  Everything works fine the first game or so but eventually the DMD starts lagging way behind the game play.  No lag on the playfield at all.  Eventually it starts taking a long time for the game to recognize my ball has drained and I have to sit there for thirty seconds or so.  I've searched for a while now but I haven't found anyone talking about the same issue.  My uneducated guess is it's PinMame lagging somehow?  This happens both in and out of VR.

UPDATE: Solved by using the baller installer update feature in the pinuppopper config, per DHRandy's suggestion.

Need to make sure that you've updated your software... that was fixed in a recent release.

Update: At least I got the sound working LOTR, apparently Stern's ROM is missing a file.

Thanks for the reply!  I think I have the most recent version of VPX and MAME(downloaded that yesterday), but I'll double check.  I downloaded a second stern to see if it happened there, but LOTR had no slow down (no rom sound either, but it's a beautiful table), but I guess it's a known issue with the Walking Dead.

Thanks again for the help.

thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a shot.    I've tried updating pinmame to the latest build as there was a closed PR that seemed to indicate the problem was solved, but it actually seems to slow down a bit faster. If this doesn't work I'm just going to pretend the table doesn't exist :)  Just to be clear this only happens now in the _GL64 version of visual pinball.  Unfortunately I have a VR only setup right now and I believe that's the version I have to use to play tables in VR.

Thanks again!

Thanks, Dhrandy, it worked!  Seven straight games without any slowdowns.  On one hand I'm super happy it's working, on the other hand I just proved my incompetence at upgrading stuff manually.
