Weird FPS issues with VPX 10.8.0 2051 GL & DX 64

I noticed that when in VR, no matter what any of the setting are set to it does not affect my FPS it runs hot at over 120FPS. ( It does look awesomely smooth don't get me wrong but I had to turn down a few settings.)  I tried all available synchronization options and the  options below that and it does not make a difference, FPS always maxed out.

What's weird is on 10.8.0 2046 I can only get just over 80fps on Q3 at max rez@ 5408x2912.

(settings for the quest were set at same rez as mentioned above @ 72fps.)

 

More interesting is when I would launch VPX 2051 in DirectX no VR, I was struggling to get 50 FPS! 

On 10.8.0 2046 easy 120FPS max settings.

A few months ago I was running a 4 screen setup with a solid 120FPS lol.

 

Went back to 2046 this morning, changed some GFX settings now everything is running smooth @5408x2912 90FPS. 

 

Did I miss something with the release of 2051?

Might be a notable mention. Noticed on Nvidia's latest RTX driver update on Mar 5th, others along with myself were having issues applying setting changes in the Nvidia control panel. I uninstalled the latest drivers and went with the last ones I had installed witch are 572.47 Feb 20. With that installed,  again everything is running smooth @5408x2912 90FPS.  Anyone else experiencing anything like this?🍻
