Pinball FX Full DMD Issues

I had a question about using the FULL DMD within Pinball FX.  When I play the table like Civil War, I get the black bars above and below the DMD, is there a way to get the full DMD to show over the Dull DMD from popper?  I tried external DMD, but nothing shows up when I tried that.  Thanks for any help towards getting this setup.  For reference I am using a FULL DMD not a 4:1 ratio version.
