echodun Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 All of a sudden, any non-puppack table I run whether through pinup popper or VPX directly has mechanical sound only. I know the speakers are working because I can hear each individual speaker under Windows Sound test. I can also hear the backglass channel in pinup popper. It's only when I load a table whether through VPX directly or pinup popper that the music is just not there. VPX audio settings are unchanged from the original 7.1 settings though something in VPX is clearly steering clear of the backglass channel.
deadmanworking Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 Are you using an external USB 7.1 sound card? For me it sometimes helps to unplug and replug and check in Sound manager that all channels are assigned correctly. Also, did you by any chance have a center speaker selected in the 7.1 setup? If you don't have one but select it anyhow it is known to sometimes completely lose sound on some or all tables.

Never had any problems until a Windows 11 update and now I can't unupdate it. I did not have center speaker selected. Funny thing is, Windows Sound configure plays all 6 speakers in a 7.1 setup fine. When I load pinup popper, I even have music. When I load VPX either through popper or VPX directly I get no backglass music. Just mechanical sounds. If I switch Windows Sound configure to less than 7.1 I don't get surround and backglass plays everything.
deadmanworking Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Got it, indeed this narrows it down to the VPX application - stupid question maybe but does your audio preferences dialog look like this, same device selected and checkbox and volume set identically? I recall having some issues with using the 7.1 SSF enhanced mode and switched to 7.1 Surround as pictured instead, which mode are you using? Are you using PinVol and maybe accidently muted the backglass audio?
